Times Table Treasure – A Class 3 Multiplication Tables Game

Times Table Treasure: Collect Gold with Every Fact

Times Table Treasure turns the multiplication tables into a rewarding hunt. A fact such as 7 × 6 appears, and the student chooses the correct product from four options. Every correct answer adds a gold coin to the treasure chest. By focusing on the tables from 2 to 10, the game covers the core multiplication facts that Class 3 learners are expected to know by heart.

The Mathematical Idea

Multiplication is repeated addition, but fluent recall of the tables is what makes later mathematics flow. A student who instantly knows 8 × 7 = 56 can tackle long multiplication, division, fractions, and area without getting stuck on basic facts. The game presents facts in random order so learners build true recall rather than reciting a table in sequence.

How to Play

When the game loads, a multiplication fact appears. Read it, work out the product, and tap the correct answer from the four buttons. A correct tap adds a coin and shows the next fact; a wrong tap lets you try again. Watch your treasure grow with each correct answer.

A Worked Example

Suppose the fact is 6 × 4. If you have not memorised it yet, you can think of it as four sixes: 6, 12, 18, 24 — so the answer is 24. Tap 24. Over time you will recognise the product instantly without adding, which is the goal of the game.

Strategy Tips

Learn the tricky facts in pairs: 7 × 8 and 8 × 7 give the same answer, so learning one teaches both. Use the nine-times finger trick, and remember that any number times ten just gains a zero. Practise a little every day rather than a lot all at once.

Why It Helps Learners

Times Table Treasure builds fast, reliable multiplication recall — a skill used constantly in division, fractions, ratios, and area calculations throughout school. Automatic table knowledge removes a major bottleneck in later mathematics, letting students focus on problem-solving instead of basic computation.
